Events are held at the Pasadena Senior Center unless otherwise noted, and are subject to change. You may call the Center at (626) 795-4331 or check our website for up-to-date information. Most events run one hour. Longer event times are noted. Reservations, if required, must be made by the Wednesday before the event either online, at the Welcome Desk, by phone or by mail. No refunds will be made after the deadline. If making a reservation by mail, include the name of the event and your contact information, and address your envelope to Events/Pasadena Senior Center, 85 East Holly Street, Pasadena, CA 91103. DISASTER RECOVERY GRIEF & LOSS SUPPORT GROUP Tuesdays, July 1 & 15 at 3:00 p.m. Presented in partnership with Foundation for Senior Services The support group is for older adults, families, caregivers and survivors. Grief and loss groups provide a safe, compassionate, and confidential space to share experiences and receive support from others. Find comfort, connections, and practical guidance for your overall emotional health and well-being. VIRTUAL GALLERY TOUR OF PERSONA: EXPLORING SELF-PORTRAITURE Tuesday, July 1 at 2:00 p.m., via Zoom Presented by James Fishburne, Director of Forest Lawn Museum Free – Members, $5.00 – Nonmembers Enjoy a virtual tour of the museum’s current exhibit Persona: Exploring Self-Portraiture. It features the work of more than 20 contemporary artists as well as historical self-portraits. The exhibition probes the limits of self-portraiture and examines the concept of visually representing the self through paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, fused glass, textile art, illustrations, and more! Registration is required to receive the Zoom link.
ELECTRONIC WASTE DAY Thursday, July 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This is an opportunity to responsibly dispose of obsolete computers and other electronic items such as Televisions, Monitors, Medical equipment, Smart phones, Laptops etc. All items will be handled in an environmentally friendly manner. Please drop off your items in the patio area. Volunteers will be there to assist you. For more information, contact the welcome desk at (626) 795-4331 . LEGAL CONSULTATIONS Thursday, July 3 at 10:00 a.m. Free legal consultations only on Conservatorship, Wills/Trusts, Estate Planning and Durable Power of Attorney. INDEPENDENCE DAY LUNCH PARTY Friday, July 4, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. $15.00 – Members, $20.00 - Nonmembers Happy Birthday, America! Join us for a festive party with food, music and friends. Enjoy a classic picnic lunch prepared by Neighborhood Survants, with live music by the band JJ Jukebox. Reservations must be made by July 1. Tickets will not be available at the door. Get your tickets early, this event will sell out! BEGINNERS CHESS CLUB Fridays from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. This chess club offers the perfect environment to learn, play, and grow in the game. Designed exclusively for those with little to no experience, this club provides structured lessons on the fundamentals of chess— how each piece moves, basic strategies, and the importance of planning ahead.
