Thursdays, July 17 – August 21 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., in Person Series Tickets: $90.00 – Members, $108.00 – Nonmembers Individual Lectures: $18.00 – Members, $20.00 – Nonmembers Alan Chapman shares his encyclopedic knowledge of music in six multimedia presentations filled with musical examples and vibrant visuals. The series kicks off with a new installment of Alan’s own “Musical Alphabet,” a potpourri of topics. Along the way he’ll explore 19th-century concertos (with a special spotlight on Beethoven) and he’ll take you on musical journeys to France and Spain. This series will be in person and not recorded. Reservations are suggested. HEALTH FAIR Friday, July 18 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Kathy Eastwood from Huntington Hospital will be doing blood pressure and glucose testing. The Hear Center will be doing free hearing screenings. Insurance representatives will be on hand to show different Medicare Health Plans, and answer questions that you may have. FREE PRODUCE DISTRIBUTION Friday, July 18 from 9:00 to 10:30 (while supplies last) Provided by the Order of Malta Mobile Ministries The Order of Malta Mobile Ministries provides pre assembled bags of vegetables to the communities they serve. Nutritious foods will be available to visitors at the Pasadena Senior Center. Proof of vaccination will be required. We will be COVID safe! We recommend that you bring bags or a cart to take your produce home. MEDIATION, CONFLICT AND DISPUTE RESOLUTIONS Thursday, July 24 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon Presented by Loyola Center for Conflict Resolution Mediation is a highly successful dispute resolution process that provides people an opportunity to resolve conflicts without going to court. Some problems it can help resolve include landlord-tenant, consumer–debt, neighbor-neighbor, business, organization/agencies, family-domestic, and workplace/employment issues. This is a classic a low-impact, full body workout that can be modified according to individual needs. You will learn fun, easy follow along jazz moves to up beat music, while energizing your body by using your muscles and creating better circulation. Comfortable shoes and clothes are recommended. BALLETFIT STRETCH & FLOW WORKSHOP Saturdays, July 12 to August 2 from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m. Presented by DanceFit Group $55.00 for 4 Sessions In this class we will be practicing ballet stretching, basic ballet techniques and will be dancing to beautiful music, while giving the body an overall sense of wellbeing. This class requires no previous dance experience. The class improves posture and balance, while maintaining mobility and easing movement, strengthens and tones muscles. Increase blood flow, energize and relieve stress. Participants must wear comfortable clothes, ballet shoes or socks. Registration is required, PAM KAY’S TAP CHICKS Tuesday, July 15 at 2:00 p.m. Free – Members, $5.00 – Nonmembers It’s summer fun with PSC’s own fabulous tapping troupe. We will fill the Pavilion with music, song, and laughter. Broadway veteran Franny McCartney returns as guest host. Reservations are suggested. DISASTER RECOVERY PROGRAM SERIES FINDING HOPE AND HEALING AFTER DISASTER: REBUILDING EMOTIONAL STABILITY Wednesday, July 16 at 2:00 p.m. A session focused on emotional recovery and support in the aftermath of disaster. It focuses on restoring emotional stability through hope, healing, and resilience. #AGEWELL ROUND TABLE Thursday, July 17 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Presentation by Foundation for Senior Services What’s On Your Mind? Let’s Talk About It! This will be a supportive and confidential setting where participants are seen, heard, and understood. Roundtables provide an environment to listen to and learn from one another, share experiences and insights, where all viewpoints, fears and feelings are valued by the group. Based on participant needs and requests, specialists will address specific topics of interest in the on-going roundtable sessions. Registration is requested.
