CARD MAKING WORKSHOP Monday, October 5 at 1:30 p.m. Join us for a fun-filled afternoon of card making. Whether you are a seasoned pro or just starting out, this workshop is open to all members and their guests. So, bring along your friends, family, or anyone who loves getting their hands dirty with arts and crafts. All the supplies you need will be provided, so you do not have to worry about a thing. We are only asking for a suggested $5 donation to cover the costs. Historian Galen Wilkes and special guests give us a history of Ragtime Music, including new compositions of his own (October 6), Professor Andi Stein tours us through the legends of Route 66 in its centennial year (Oct 13), and the Los Angeles Public Library’s photo curator Christina Rice shares the history of the Los Angeles Public Library and its iconic 1926 Central Library building. RECOVERY, RENEWAL AND RESILIENCE AFTER LOSS First Tuesday of the month at 3:00 p.m., via Zoom Second Wednesday of the month at Noon, via Zoom Presented by Foundation for Senior Services Join this uplifting and support group to reflect on the next phase of the journey after loss. Each week the Foundation for Senior Services specialists will guide seniors and families through real-life stories and meaningful activities that encourage healing, emotional resilience, and renewed connection. Through conversation, creativity, and self-discovery exercises, participants explore ways to move forward with greater strength and a deeper appreciation for the life that continues to unfold. Participants are welcome to attend either session.
